Substitute
Teaching
Thank you for your interest in
being a substitute teacher for SAU #53. Substitute teachers must
possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
To apply to become a substitute in
any of our 9 schools, click the links below, print out these forms (they
can not be submitted electronically) and bring your completed
paperwork to the SAU office on Pembroke Street in Pembroke. You

- (Be sure to use references that
include work or experience you've had with children.)

- (Must be accompanied by 2 forms of
identification. i.e.: driver's license & social security
card or birth certificate. You may also present ONLY a
passport.)
You may also contact or stop into
the SAU office or any of our schools to obtain all of the necessary
paperwork for substituting.
Once all required paperwork has
been completed and turned in your references will be checked and the
Superintendent will review your application. Upon his approval,
the schools that you indicated in your application will be notified of
your interest and you will be contacted by those schools when a
substitute is needed.
The schools, NOT the SAU office,
contact substitutes when their employ is needed. We can not guarantee
any specific number of days/hours of employ as a substitute teacher.
