Procedural Guidelines

 

Volunteer Safeguards

 

 

1.     Volunteers working or overseeing children in the presence of a member of the Deerfield Community School staff are not required to undergo a Criminal Records Check.  It is the practice of Deerfield Community School to require all volunteers to work or oversee children in the presence of a staff member.

 

2.     Volunteers accompanying students and staff on over-night trips or activities must undergo the Criminal Records Check process.  The Deerfield School District will assume the cost of any such record checks.

 

3.     Verification of liability insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000 must be carried on any private vehicle used to transport students.  All motor vehicle laws, including the use of seat belts, must be strictly observed.
