Student Use of the School Site

During Hunting Season

It is the policy of the Deerfield School District to restrict students’ access to wooded areas of the school site during hunting season. Due to concerns for their safety and well being, students will not be allowed to enter any wooded area for either recreational or programmatic reasons while they are under the responsibility and supervision of the district and its employees. This restriction period is during the seasons for the taking of deer by firearm. During the portion of the deer hunting season that is limited to bow and arrow and muzzle loader, students will be allowed to use the wooded areas for programmatic reasons. The school property shall be legally posted and the students shall wear brightly colored clothing.
