ALLENSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT
TEACHER LIAISON COMMITTEE
A SUB-COMMITTEE OF THE ALLENSTOWN SCHOOL BOARD
PURPOSE:
To provide another avenue toward resolution of problems and concerns of teachers.
STRUCTURE:
Liaison Representatives shall be elected for two-year terms by teachers of the respective schools as follows:
Complainant
Respective Building Representative
Member of School Board
Respective Principal
PROCEDURE:
- Prior to referral to the Liaison Committee, the teacher (or teachers) shall attempt to resolve the issue with the school principal.
- If resolution of the problem is not satisfactory to the teacher, referral may then be made in writing to the Liaison Committee. Matters of issue clearly within the realm of Teacher Contracts will not be considered by the committee.
- The Liaison Representative will contact the appropriate administrative authority and provide a written outline of the problem area. A copy will be given to the Superintendent of Schools for information purposes.
- If the matter is not resolved as determined by the Teacher Liaison Committee, an attempt toward resolution will take place with the Superintendent of Schools.
- If the matter is not resolved through the contact with the Superintendent , as determined by the Liaison Committee, a further attempt toward resolution will take place with the Allenstown School Board.
- The decision rendered by the Board shall be considered by the Teacher Liaison Committee as final.
MEETINGS:
Meetings will be held on an "as needed" basis.
No meeting of the Teacher Liaison Committee will be held without the attendance of the School Board Representative.
Upon written request of a majority of Liaison Committee Representatives, a meeting of this committee may be called within three school days.
