JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Assistant Principal, Allenstown School District
JOB GOAL:
To assist the Principal in carrying out the goals and policies set forth by the Allenstown School Board.
The Assistant Principal of the Allenstown Schools shall, in the absence of the Principal, assume the duties and responsibilities of the Principal.
ADDITIONALLY, THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL SHALL:
- Supervise extra-curricular activities with attention to type, variety, frequency, time and place and sponsorship.
- Obtain and supervise substitute teachers. Record and submit to the Principal the monthly attendance report for the Allenstown Elementary staff.
- Monitor building maintenance and related functions.
- Promote and maintain high staff and student morale.
ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED THE PRINCIPAL IN:
- Developing duty schedules and the supervision of staff in their duties to insure effective building management.
- The coordination and supervision of the Student Review Team.
- The management of the District’s Student Behavior Management Program.
- The development of positive school/community relations.
- The coordination of student extracurricular activities, field trips, etc.
- The supervision and evaluation of non-certified staff.
- Maintaining and submitting various State/Federal reports as required by those agencies and as required by the Principal/Superintendent.
- Carrying out other related duties assigned by the Principal.
- The areas of curriculum development and planning.
- All phases of supervision and evaluation of teachers, particularly new teacher orientation.
The Assistant Principal shall be responsible to the Principal and receive a written evaluation yearly.
