SMOKING POLICY

 

 

I. A Basic Premise:

Any situation that potentially exposes school children to an environment that contains smoking by-products and/or presents an opportunity for students to observe smoking activities is inappropriate, both from a health and an educational viewpoint.

II. Based upon the above guiding statement we recommend the following:

  1. Smoking is banned in all Allenstown School District buildings at all times.

  2. Smoking on all school sponsored activities must not occur in the presence of students.

  3. If a generally inconspicuous outside area is available, it may be designated as an employee smoking area. The schools’ administration must approve any site so designated.

  4. Smoking during community meetings which utilize school district facilities must be confined to an area outside of the school building as designated by the school administration.
