Parental Internet Access to Student Records
We are excited to roll out our new parent Internet access system.  Through an upgrade this summer, we now have a single login that will allow you to access all of your student's information - attendance, discipline, report cards, and teachers' grade books.  the registration process is automatic as long as you have your email address on file with us and know your student's ID number.

Start by going to home page of this website and click on "Parent Access to Student Information".  that will take you to the sign-in page for the new parent portal.  Underneath the sign-in box you will see a link to "click here to create your account"  You will need the following information to create your account:  Your student's ID number and the EXACT first and last names we have on file for YOU.  You can choose your own login name.

Once you submit this form, the system will send a message to the email account that we have on file for you.  That message will include a temporary password for you to use.  You will be asked to change that to a password of your choosing the first time you log on to the system.

The site itself is fairly self-explanatory and easy to navigate.  If you have more than one student enrolled at PA, you can add them to your single login so you don't have to remember multiple passwords.  You also can choose to give your student his or her own login to check information and progress.

Please email mms@sau53.org if you have any questions or issues with the system.

Recycle Ink Cartridges
The Environmental Club is collecting ink cartridges for recycling.  Money raised from this collection will be put towards the Club's other projects.  Ink Cartridges can be dropped off in the main office.

FLU SEASON
The flu season is coming whether we like it or not, and schools are perfect incubators for the spread of this disease - in all its forms.  the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services wants schools to remain open during flu season (as do we), but we need your help to accomplish this.

PA, like virtually every other New Hampshire school, is working with the Health Department to monitor conditions and make informed decisions about the best steps to take concerning kids' health at school.  We will keep you updated with information as it becomes available.  Here are a few basic steps parents and schools can take:

  • Encourage kids to was their hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub.  We can set a good example by doing this ourselves.
  • Ask kids not to share drinks, food, or utensils.
  • Insist that kids cover their sneezes and coughs using their elbow instead of their hand if tissues are not available.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of flu:  fever of over 100 degrees, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, and tiredness.
  • If your child contracts the flu, keep them home for 24 hours after the cessation of symptoms.  This will demonstrably cut down on the number of individuals who are infected.  Note that any child who is determined to be ill with the flu at school will be sent home.

More information is available at www.flu.gov or call 1-800-CDC-INFO.  For specific information about flu in our community, visit or call the Communicable Disease Control Section at the Division of Public Health Services (271-4496).

Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)

In compliance with AHERA the Pembroke School District is required to notify parents, teachers, and all other building occupants that an Asbestos Management Plan is available to them in either the office of each school or in the SAU office. The plan details the location of asbestos in each building and provides a record of  inspections, re-inspections, periodic surveillance, and removal of asbestos.

Periodic surveillance of Asbestos Bearing Material (ABM) is conducted by district personnel every six months and a thorough re-inspection of ABM is conducted once every three years by the District’s environmental consultant. The most recent re-inspection was conducted by Desmarais Environmental Inc. in November 2008.

If you require more detailed information, please call the SAU office and they will put you in touch with the District’s designated person for asbestos information.
