Village School Library

Kindergarten and first grade students visit the Village library once a week for forty-five minutes. Students at Village may take out and keep a book for one week. A typical visit to the library includes a read aloud, a lesson, book selection and personal reading time. A sampling of lesson topics include: proper book care, library organization, author studies and an introduction to the different types of literature. Hill School Library

All students at the Hill School visit the library for forty-five minutes each week.  Students at Hill may take out and keep two books for two weeks. A typical visit to the library includes a lesson, listening to a story, book selection and personal reading time. A sampling of lesson topics include: how to use the online public access catalog (OPAC) system, reference tools,  the arrangement of fiction and non fiction books, author studies, and the characteristics of various types of literature.  For more information on library happenings and specific skills covered please see our monthly newsletter.
