Reflections (Why did we help at New Horizons and how did it show we care?)

When the Social Activism Magnet learned we were going to New Horizons, we were psyched. We were excited to help people out by making up Thanksgiving packages. Also, we learned that in the city of Manchester there are about 2,000 homeless people! That made us want to help out even more. After we came back, we felt that, even if we hadn't helped the world, we helped at least 560 needy people, and that feels good. Real good.

We found out that we were to visit the New Horizon's Homeless shelter in Manchester. We were very excited. I think that the reason for us being so excited, or for us having so much fun, was because we can enjoy helping others and getting the great feeling that you get of accomplishment when others are happier because of you. We made a lot of "Thanksgiving baskets" for the homeless, and enjoyed doing it. The reason we are in this magnet is to show we care about everyone, and that we treat everyone as equals. Our benefit from doing this is the joy we give ourselves after making a difference.
