1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at
Gordon Ellis led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Immediate Business
A. Review
of Open Position
Members of the interview committee discussed the process and the candidate’s qualifications. Gordon Ellis suggested that the current name of the course, “life skills,” was inappropriate. Linda Elliott suggested “Consumer Science.” The Board directed Patrick Connors to consider other titles for the position and to report at the September business meeting. Bill Yeaton suggested that the Board review the possibility of cutting positions in next year’s budget to lower the overall number of staff members.
B. Nomination/Election of Staff
Tom Haley placed Barbara Nelson’s name in nomination for the open position for 2006/07.
A motion was made by Tracey Miner, seconded by Barbara Doughty to elect Barbara Nelson.
