The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Nancy

John Poirier made a motion to approve the Chichester
School Board minutes for February 11, 2008 Public Hearing and February 11, 2008
Regular Meeting as printed.

Principal’s Report
Pam Stiles presented her Principal’s Report.
The Board praised the Multi-Cultural Fair and also
suggested that future programs limit the length.
Mrs. Stiles asked the Board to visit and observe the
hot water heater repairs and accommodations to the kitchen storage area where
the hot water heater is housed.
The Board also visited a classroom
to observe a water seepage concern.

Nancy Fraher made a motion nominating John Poirier as Chairperson of the Chichester School Board effective at the April 2008 Regular Board meeting.

John Poirier made a motion nominating Ben Brown as Vice-Chairperson of the Chichester School Board effective at the April 2008 Regular Board meeting.

Peter Warburton presented Title LXIII, Elections, Chapter 664 Political Expenditures and Contributions, Political Advertising, Section 664:17 (Placement and Removal of Political Advertising) law. No political advertising shall be placed on or affixed to any public property including highway rights-of-way or private property without the owner’s consent.
The policy was reviewed and discussed as it applies
to the Chichester School District property.
John Poirier will follow-up with Patrick Clarke, Police Chief, as it
applies to Political Advertising on school property.
Mr. Warburton also distributed to Chichester School
Board members the New Hampshire School Boards Association Scholarship Program
which is open to the children (including stepchildren) or grandchildren of
school board members (current board members as of March 1, 2008), and whose
school board is a current member of the NHSBA.
The awards are only open to public high school students in their senior
year.

Proposed Calendar for 2008-2009
John Poirier made a motion to accept the proposed calendar
for 2008-2009 school year as amended.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.

Ben Brown made a motion to instruct the SAU Administration to request from the Commissioner of Education a waiver of two school days from the 2007-08 calendar due to removing snow from the roof of Chichester Central School.

Chairperson Nancy Fraher noted that no action was taken while in the non-public session.
E. Consent
Agenda
Ben Brown made a motion to accept $206.97 from
Target.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.
John Poirier made a motion to made an exception to
policy and allow a SAU employee, who is not a Chichester employee, conduct CYA
baseball on Saturday at Chichester Central School. Brad Bacheldar will be present and
responsible at all times that the facility is in use.

Maryann Veseskis presented a written request from
Kate Mara, Drama Coach, asking the Chichester School Board to give permission
for Michael Hayes, a Pembroke Academy non-Chichester resident student, to ride
the Chichester Pembroke Academy bus to Chichester Central School to assist with
technology on days of drama for the current play.
Ben Brown made a motion to approve the request to
allow Michael Hayes to ride the Chichester School District high school bus from
Pembroke Academy to Chichester Central School for the duration of current play
practices and production.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.
