1.                  Call to Order

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ben Brown at 6:32 P.M.

 

2.                  Minutes of Previous Meeting – August 23, 2006

 

Nancy Fraher made a motion to approve the Chichester School Board Minutes of August 23, 2006 as printed.

 

John Poirier seconded the motion.

3.                  Citizen Comments

 

None

 

4.                  Special Education Report

 

Patty Willis reported on the on-site Special Education review by the State of New Hampshire, Department of Education mandated by the Federal Government.  The review took place last spring and focused on 3 areas:  access to general education, transitions from grade to grade and high school, and behavior/strategies.  The review consisted of a 101 page report and a letter from the Department of Education stating that Special Education at the Chichester School District passed with flying colors and will not need to be reviewed for five years.

Pam Stiles presented her Principal’s Report.

B.                 District Treasurer

 

The District Treasurer was not present.  No discussion occurred.

 

C.                 Memory Sticks

 

Ben Brown made a motion to supply memory sticks at a cost of $5 per student to all students in grades five through eight.  The district will pay for the balance of the cost of the memory sticks. The district will supply memory sticks to the Chichester School District staff at no cost.

 

                        John Poirier seconded the motion.

8.                  Administrative Issues

 

A.                 Policy Review/Development

 

1)                  Memorandum of Understanding

 

Ben Brown made a motion to approve the Memorandum of Understanding Policy as presented.

 

John Poirier seconded the motion.

2)                  Updated Policy Review

 

Tom Haley presented each Board Member a packet consisting of a copy of all existing and new policies of the Chichester School District.  Mr. Haley will update the policy books currently housed at Chichester Central School and update the policies on the web site.

 

 

 

B.                 Personnel Matter

 

At 7:45 P.M. John Poirier made a motion that the Board enter into non-public session under RSA 91-A:3II (c) for a personnel matter.

School Board Chairman Ben Brown announced that the Board had taken no action while in non-public session.

At 8:12 P.M. hearing no further call for business to come before the Board, Chairman Ben Brown adjourned the meeting.
