Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ben
Brown at 6:26 P.M.

Minutes of Previous Meeting – July 25, 2006
Nancy Fraher made a motion to accept the minutes of
July 25, 2006 as amended.
John Poirier seconded the motion.

4. Principal’s Report
Pam Stiles presented her Principal’s Report.
Pam Stiles requested changing inside gymnasium
lighting to diffused lighting for the present 13 lights with an addition of a
fourteenth at the back of the gymnasium.
Unitil has proposed to share the cost of the change on a 50/50
basis. The cost to the Chichester School
District is $3,058. The change is
estimated to bring an $800 savings per year.
Nancy Fraher made a motion to approve the change to
the lighting for $3,058.
John Poirier seconded the motion.

School Board Goals
John Poirier made a motion to approve the 2006-2007
Chichester School Board Goals as amended.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.

Special Topics
A.
Staff Requests
1)
Non-Resident Enrollment
Resa Audet, a Chichester School District staff
member from Loudon, requested permission for her daughter to continue attending
tuition free as a non-resident student at Chichester Central School for the
2006-07 school year. Her daughter has
attended Chichester Central School for two years and will be in the second
grade for the 2006-07 school year.
Ben Brown made a motion to approve this request and
grant Resa Audet’s daughter permission to continue to attend tuition free as a
non-resident student at Chichester Central School for the 2006-07 school year
under the same conditions as previously established.
John Poirier seconded the motion.

The motion passed on a vote of 2 to 1.
2)
Computer Purchase
Tom Haley requested that the Board continue to allow
Chichester School District staff to purchase computers at the Chichester School
District cost through payroll deductions.
John Poirier made a motion to continue to allow
Chichester School District staff to purchase computers at the Chichester School
District cost through payroll deductions.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.

3)
High School Bus Request
MaryAnn Veseskis, a Chichester School District staff
member from Epsom, requested permission for her children to ride the Chichester
School District bus to Pembroke Academy.
Ben Brown made a motion to approve the request for
MaryAnn Veseskis’ children to ride the Chichester School District bus to
Pembroke Academy at no charge with the following stipulations:
1) this does not add a bus stop
2) should the bus become full Chichester students
have
preference.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.

The motion passed on a vote of 2 to 0.

Administrative Issues
A.
At-Risk Review
Pam Stiles reported to the Chichester School Board
on 6 Chichester students who dropped out of Pembroke Academy last year. The Board expressed their concerns and hoped
that all efforts were being made by the Chichester School District and Pembroke
Academy to help these students finish their high school years.
B.
Policy Review/Development
1) Wellness
Nancy
Fraher made a motion to adopt the Local Wellness Policy – GBBC/JLC.
John
Poirier seconded the motion.

2) Memorandum of Understanding
Discussion was held regarding the Memorandum of
Understanding Policy, but no action was taken at this time.
C.
Follow the Child Initiative
Lionel Tracy, Commissioner of Education for the
State of New Hampshire has purposed the Follow the Child Initiative.
Pam Stiles presented a form developed by the
Chichester Administration for Chichester Central School to use for following
our students. The Board made additional
suggestions for the form.
Nancy Fraher made a motion that the Chichester
School District support efforts to become a Follow the Child Initiative school
district.
Ben Brown seconded the motion.

Tom Haley placed the name of Samantha Fraser in
nomination as Guidance Counselor for the 2006-07 school year.
Ben Brown made a motion to elect Samantha Fraser as
Guidance Counselor for the 2006-07 school year.
John Poirier seconded the motion.

At 7:50 P.M. hearing no further call for business to
come before the Board, Chairman Ben Brown adjourned the meeting.
