Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Chairman John
Poirier at 6:40 P.M.

Minutes of Previous Meeting – December 12, 2005
Ben Brown made a motion to accept the Chichester School Board minutes for December 12, 2005 as printed.
Nancy Fraher seconded the minutes.

Citizen Comments
Irene Derosier, Art teacher, stated that two
Chichester Central School students earned Silver Key awards at the Scholastic
Art Show Exhibit. The art show is at the
Bedford Mall until February 4th.
This highly recognized show exhibits the exceptional work of many
talented New Hampshire students.
Gloria Andrews reported on the AREA Advisory
Committee meeting. Some of the
highlights of the meeting are as follows:
Gregg Brighenti, Assistant Principal, was named
Assistant Principal of the Year.
Pembroke Academy was recognized for School of
Excellence for it’s Freshmen Training Program.
Currently Chichester number of dropouts at Pembroke
Academy for 2005/2006 is 0%.
Pembroke Academy is proposing two new positions for
2006/07:

Response Coordinator
Southern New Hampshire University is offering
scholarships from $1,000 to $8,000 to Pembroke Academy students.
Addressing reading skills – hired tutors
2006/07 AREA Budget discussed
Discussed new state proposed calendar and how to
handle it – 990 hours instead of number of days.
SAT Prep program on web site
PA’s graduation requirements are higher than state
requirements.

Principal’s Report
Pam Stiles presented her Principal’s Report.
Mrs. Stiles reported receiving a $2,500 grant from
Best Buy for Technology.
Chichester Central School was in session for Martin
Luther King Day. There were thirty-one
students and eleven staff members absent.

Special Topics
Ray Desmarais has completed an asbestos survey of
the school. He reported that to remove
all asbestos in the school would cost $53,386.
The cost to remove the carpet in three rooms is $5,963. There would be an additional cost to replace
the flooring.

Consent Agenda
Ben Brown made a motion to accept $677.99 from
Lifetouch National School Pictures Studio.
John Poirier seconded the motion.
IT WAS A VOTE
John Poirier made a motion to reaffirm the
Chichester School District Investment Policy.
Nancy Fraher seconded the motion.

Dave Dziura distributed a list of school districts
with medical coverage with Local Government Center Health Trust. The Chichester School Board has asked The
Local Government Center Health Trust to present and compare their health
insurance policies with School Care’s insurance policies. School Care was also given an opportunity to
compare policies with Chichester staff.
The Chichester staff requested a chance to meet, discuss and vote before
the Board takes any formal action. The
Chichester School Board will meet Monday, January 23rd at 6:30 P.M.
to further pursue health insurance.

The Board continued to work on developing the
2006/07 budget.
