Welcome to SAU #53
Serving the school districts of Allenstown, Chichester,
Deerfield, Epsom, and Pembroke
Welcome to the SAU #53 website! Take some time to explore and to learn about
SAU #53 and the five districts it serves.
The five districts of Allenstown, Chichester,
Deerfield, Epsom, and Pembroke provide the
pre-K -12 educational experiences for approximately 3500 students. Pembroke
Academy provides the high
school experience for the communities of Allenstown, Chichester,
Epsom, and Pembroke, while students in the Deerfield
community travel to Concord
for their high school program.
On March 10, 2015, all five
of our districts participated in a “Sharing Best Practices” Conference. This conference was the sixth of its kind for
SAU #53. Faculty members from throughout
SAU #53 presented to their colleagues on a variety of “best practices” that are
utilized daily in their classrooms. This
day was designed to provide everyone with an opportunity to showcase the tremendous
work they do each day on behalf of our students. This was a fabulous way for our teachers to
gain professional development that is meaningful and beneficial to their
practice. The results of the evaluation survey conducted as a follow-up to our
“Sharing Best Practices” Conference were extremely positive. Teachers benefited tremendously from lessons
learned and have already been able to apply their learning to daily classroom
instruction. We look forward to planning
the 7th Annual “Sharing Best Practices” Conference during the 2015-2016 school year.
With budget season behind
us, we are pleased to announce that the FY16 budgets for all of our districts
were approved by the voters in each district.
In these difficult economic times, we brought forward fiscally
responsible budgets while still working to maintain the
necessary funding to provide an excellent education for each and every
student. We will move forward in a
positive manner and appreciate the support of our taxpayers.
All of the SAU #53 faculty,
staff, and students have been busy during the second half of the school
year. Many initiatives are in full
swing. Educators in all of our schools
are working collaboratively to help all students s they focus on data and results
to guide their practice. We continue to foster a climate that supports continuous
Our SAU #53 Leadership Team
continues to meet monthly and we conduct “School Walks” in each of the
buildings throughout the SAU. To date,
we have visited all 9 of the schools in SAU #53. These “School Walks” have been a wonderful
way to showcase each of our schools to all of the administrators. We continue to be impressed with the
wonderful educational opportunities available to our students and are
appreciative of the quality education provided to each and every student in SAU
With spring here, our schools will soon be holding
end-of-year celebrations and events.
Before we know it, the 2014-2015 school year will come to a close and we
