Administrative Assistant to the Special Education Director


Primary Responsibility:  To assist the Special Education Administrators in all aspects of administering the Special Education Program to the highest standards attainable with confidentiality being of the utmost importance.


Daily Issues & Responsibilities:  Assist Special Education Coordinators in the NHSEIS State Special Education System.

  • Set up new users, change user functions, delete, enter, activate, de-activate and inactivate student data
  • Converse via phone and email with the State Department of Education regarding adding and transferring of students to various school districts
  • Utilize the i4see system to complete/delete/upload/verify the A13N data and the Special Education student count for funding
  • Assist in attaining SASID numbers for students
  • Enter Catastrophic Aid Fiscal records into NHSEIS
  • Copy and deliver Catastrophic Aid records to the New Hampshire Department of Education


Other Daily Duties:

  • Create Purchase Orders for all costs related to SPED - supplies, workshops, etc.
  • Revise, maintain, and close Purchase Orders
  • Maintain SPED copier; supplies, maintenance, etc.
  • Submit newspaper ads for SPED & TLC
  • Track student costs by year through spreadsheets
  • Schedule interviews
  • Coordinate meetings
  • Maintain SPED files
  • Disseminate information to Coordinators
  • Maintain Diagnostic Library and insure protocols are available for evaluators
  • Manage licensed employee files to insure they are current


Yearly Duties:

  • Assist with the Special Education IDEA-B and Preschool Grant
  • Generate summer & SAU Contracted Service Contracts
  • Estimate special education tuition/transportation and contracted service costs for the yearly budgets for all districts.
  • Contact out of district schools for rates/rate letters/calendars
  • Verify student services by using NHSEIS    
  • Verify & submit all SPED state reports


All other duties as assigned.
